Rethink normalising fuel levy, says Outa
/Staff Writer
The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa) has urged finance minister Enoch Godongwana to extend the R1.50 a litre temporary reduction in fuel levies, saying that if it expires on May 31 as scheduled “the price of petrol and diesel will increase to over R25 a litre in the coming months”. Outa CEO Wayne Duvenage said if the reprieve had to be terminated, Godongwana should consider phasing in the full levy over three months at 50c a month.
